Does anyone know what constitutes an adult charge if you have more than 2 in a room? My DD doesn't quality as an adult at the age of 13 anywhere else but Disney. I know I have to buy her an adult ticket and she'd be an adult on the dining plan, but will they charge an extra $25 for her in the room also with myself, my DH and another adult friend? I know the other adult friend will be charged for sure, but would a 13 yr old??? Thanks in advance!

The above is correct.
We're taking my 19 year old sister with us on our trip, so we have to pay the extra adult charge. If we were taking my 15 year old brother, we wouldn't have to.

You won't pay the extra adult charge for your DD, but you will pay it for your adult friend.

A 13 yr old is not an adult at WDW. She is a guest aged 10+. You must be an adult to book a room at WDW and that is age 18. More than two guests over the age of 18 in a room and you pay the extra adult fee for more than two adults.

Sorry to hijack, but can someone tell me what it would cost to have 4 adults in a deluxe room? Is there only one charge if there are more than 2 adults or would there be a charge for each of the additional 2 adults (i.e. $25 vs $50 per night)?

Thanks!

$50 extra per night.

Wow-- that seems more than a tad excessive. What exactly is that $50/nt. paying for?

Thanks for the info!

Two more adults. It is pretty much standard in the hotel industry that hotel rooms are double occupancy (meaning two adults). Extra adults means extra fees. I know when we booked rooms at Yellowstone, we had to pay an extra person fee for our 13 yr old son since the extra fee kicks in about 10 or 12 yrs old.

I already knew that an additional adult charge beyond double occupancy is standard, but not $50/nt. That just seems sort of nuts to me. But oh well.. it is what it is.

Does the fee kick it at age 18, or is "18 and under" considered a child?

It's paying for lost room revenue. Hotels make money from selling rooms. The extra two adults is at least 1 if not 2 rooms not being sold at that night's room rate. Even charging $50 is not making up for the revenue lost on 1 or 2 deluxe rooms. So 4 adults in a room really is a bargain for the guests even with the $50 dollars fee and a loss for the hotel. And that's why the extra adult fee is a hotel industry standard.

The ability to NOT pay $400+ per night for a second room. $25 per person per night isn't unreasonable in comparison.

This and the additional wear and tear on the rooms. Two more adults in a room means more wear and tear on the beds, carpet, plumbing, more electricity usage, more water usage, more laundry due to sheet/towel usage, etc. 4 adults in 1 room for a week use more than 2 adults in 1 room for a week.
