You can buy them in park.

You can purchase the Express Passes at various locations in both parks. I would not recommend purchasing the passes ahead of time as you may not need them.

You can buy them at the park, actually many of those that post here reccomend waiting until you get to the park to purchase the express pass since that way you can get an idea for line levels.

No you don't have to buy them in advance
you can go and if it gets really busy you can buy them inside the parks
