Question about events

I have been playing VMK for about 2 weeks now and there's something I'm still not sure of. On the left-hand side of the VMK home page, there is a section that says "Events in the Game." I have never been able to figure out how to participate in any of these. Can someone explain how these work? Thanks.

The events are in the Host rooms. During an event search for the hosts guest room, ussually it will be the most popular guest room. But be aware that it can be a long wait to get in to the game and many players DC without ever getting to play the games. Also, often times you won't even be able to get in the line.

If you notice, when people get in and are able to win a prize it's a big deal and they will often post a message. As for me, well I have DC everytime that I have made it in the rooms. Have never had a chance to play.

The exception to this is the Slide Competition last week, as it was held in our guest rooms. Also, the quest events are now ussually on the Q button.

You find those events in the guest rooms section of vmk. They are usually at the top of the room list, imposible to get into the line, and you will probably disconnect when it is your turn to play.....

Some of the events are on the "Q" button, like the quest for the special disney mickey quest pin.

Ok And I have to say it: You must be a Pern fan! I love that series of books. I tried to make a boy character at the park, for my nephew, was going to title it "Jaxom" but of course VMK would not let me. Is your vmk title Mnementh also?

Thank you both for your help. That whole DC thing is disappointing, but I've been disconnected at worse times before.

In answer to your questions, yes Mnementh is also the name of the character on VMK. Both the DIS screen name and the VMK character are used by both me and my fiance, and my fiance is indeed a big Pern fan. I've never read any Anne McCaffrey books, but she's read most of the Pern series. I was under the impression that Mnementh was kind of an obscure character, but if you recognized it, I guess not.
