We have our trip scheduled for Sept. 23 - Sept. 30. I have booked all of my ADR and feel ready to go. Well, my favorite park is ..............of course.............MK. The rest of the family loves MGM most of all. So I scheduled our first day in parks (Sept. 24) to be MGM. I also scheduled last day of park (Sept. 29) to be MGM. That way the family can get it first and last. The day before last (Sept. 28) I have our day scheduled to be our second MK day so that I can get my last "fix" in before we go. Here is my problem. Before I booked all of my ADRs I looked over the calendar carefully........or so I thought. I booked everything trying to AVOID EMH!!!!!!!!! I just realized when double checking yesterday that the MK day on the 28th is evening EMH, and we have ADR at CRT for 2:40!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (That is the earliest lunch time that was available.) I called today to see if there were any other open spots that week so that we could change our days, but everything is booked. I hate to miss the CRT so it looks like we will be keeping to our MK schedule. I will, of course, keep trying to call and see if anything opens. If not, we will be in MK the day of evening EMH........that will be our last MK day of the trip, too. Please tell me that it will be ok. I hope that it will not be too bad. This is our first trip since they started EMH in the evenings. We have always participated in EMH mornings and never had a problem. We have always gone on low/value season so crowds really haven't been an issue. What should I expect with this one?

We have found the evening EMH were great. We were there for New Years so the crowds were really bad, and the only time we were able to get a lot done was at the evenings EMH. If you are asking if the crowds going to be bad during the day because of the Evening extra hours? I would say the crowds are not going to make a difference during the day. If must people are doing the evening hrs they will go to MK much later in the day, since MK is open late. We would do another park in the day then MK at night. You are going at a pretty good time, I don't think you will have to worry about crowds.

Your trip sounds pretty well planned at this point. I probably wouldn't go back and start rearranging things just to avoid evening EMH.

In my experience, EMH evenings can go one of two ways depending on the day, time of year and park. At Epcot's EMH, we were unable to get on a single attraction. Every single resort guest must have come out that night. We eventually gave up and went back to the hotel. But at MK's EMH, the park emptied and we were able to ride everything several times in a row without leaving our seats.

Go on the day you've planned, but keep a short mental list of the "must-do" attractions and shows. If you're overwhelmed with people, just hit the things you really want. Two long waits for your two favorite rides is probably better than wandering the park looking for short lines at attractions you don't prefer.

Thanks! I was wondering how soon the crowds come into the park. So they really come at the end of the day, right before EMH??? That is great to know. That way we can try to get everything done before the crowds come. Also, I guess if we decide the crowds are low enough and we want to stay, then we can and take advantage of the EMH.
I was just hoping we wouldnt experience terrible crowds.

We were in Disney last June, which was our first trip with the new EMH and non-park hopping tickets. We learned pretty quickly to stay away from the evening EMH park all day that day. Not as noticable at AK, but Epcot, MGM and MK were awful! However, we were there in early June, which is generally busier than September.

If Sept. 28 is about the same crowd-wise as May 14 (and to my way of thinking, it seems logical), EMH crowds won't be a problem.
