question about EP's and one day trip

My husband and I are going to Universal side only on Monday, 12/17/18. I know it is getting close to Christmas, but am wondering if we need EP's on that date?
We are weighing the options to buy EP's or not.
We are staying at WDW and have done both parks before, but want to do only Universal side this time. We have stayed at RPR with free EP's for 2 days, but not an option this time.

Just wondering if anyone would have any ideas about crowds this time of year??

You will be able to take advantage of single rider lines for some of the big rides (Gringotts, Transformers, Mummy, MiB). You can also do the virtual line for Fallon as well as Fast and Furious. With reasonable planning, I would think you could manage nicely without EP for the others.
