I can not find the answer to this online anywhere so here I am...I may have to cash in a CD to help DD pay cash for a house. I won't know until Friday if her offer is accepted. The CD I want to cash in is with CapitalOne which has no local branches. Does anyone know how I go about closing a CD ( I do have several other savings accounts with them) and how soon I should have those funds? I do have to pay an early withdrawal fee...well, she will have to pay it, but it will be worth it if her offer is accepted.

You should be able to see all of your accounts, including any CDs, when you log into your CapitalOne360 account. Click on the CD that you're thinking about closing and it will direct you to a page with all of the info about that CD. Near the bottom will be "Today's Early Redemption Value" and a link to Close the CD. There will probably be additional pages that remind you that you will be losing interest by closing the CD early and a check box so that you can acknowledge it. Then it will ask you what account you want to transfer the funds to. Transferring to a CapitolOne360 account should be immediate.

Thank you so much, that is very helpful.

But don't forget, if you have to send the funds to say a checking account in another bank, that can take several days.
