I am going to WDW in June. Does anyone know if I can buy Disney DVDs (Toy Story 1 and 2 specfically) in WDW somewhere? (it's not for sale right now in regular stores).

Thanks for your help. ;)

I don't know about in WDW but I have a copy of TS2 I could sell you. It was opened and watched once and then we bought the two pack set with TS1 and TS2 together so it's an extra. THere are no scratches or marks on the DVD. Make me an offer.

While I can't tell you specific titles, the World of Disney at Downtown Disney has several DVDs for sale. You might find it less expensive to go to Best Buy or Wal-Mart though since Disney prices will probably be higher. Ironicly, I would look at items at Disney, head over to the Florida Mall in Orlando and buy the same thing at the Disney Store for less (if they had it).

TS1 and TS2 are now in the Disney Vault (a.k.a retired), and are not being sold. You might take a look at Amazon.com, ebay.com, and half.com to see if you can find them. The only way you can get them now is second hand. Good Luck in your search!

You mentioned half.com can you tell me more about this site. How does it work and can I trust what I order? Have you ever bought anything from this site?

Yes, I have bought and I sell on half.com. It is owned by ebay. So they use the same feedback system that ebay does. But you don't bid on the items. The seller sets their own price, with a small description of the item. Then you get a choice of media mail or express shipping. Some times you can even find still factory sealed items. Now you can only pay for your items with a credit card, so you have the added protection of that. So if you don't get something, then you can call your CC co.

Here is a search of Half.com, typing in Toy Story (noticed a 2 disc set with both TS1 and TS2 for $24.99) But take a look at everything, and use the feedback like you would on ebay.

Have any other questions, just post them here.

I have used half.com for a while with no problems. Unfortunately in the past week I've had two with college textbooks. THe first one I ordered the seller would not insure the item. I really didn't stress too much about it since I've never had a problem but like the added assurance KWIM? Well the seller wrapped the book in a paper bag and it was DESTROYED at the PO. I sent pics to the seller to show her. The PO says it's out of their hands bc it's not insured. The seller says it's not her responsibility, it's the PO's. Fortunately, half.com has a buyer protection plan. So I filed a claim and should have my money back in 30-45 days. Not ideal but at least I'm getting it back.

ETA: I forgot to mention that the package had been destroyed so badly that the book had fallen out of the package. All I received was a torn brown paper bag.

So I ordered the same book from another seller. INSISTED on insurance. The book shipped fast with expedited mail and I was so excited to get it today as my class started today. Well they sent the wrong book. IT is a brief version - not the full version - but the seller had listed it under the ISBN of the full version. Can you imagine how frustrated I am now? *sigh* So now I have to file ANOTHER claim. And you can only file like 3 a year - I'm using 2 in a week.

Like I said, I've never had a problem before but somebody doesn't want me to get this book I guess LOL Thank God for the Buyer protection plan :) Best of luck to you!

What about the Dinsy Movie CLub? I think they are available thru them but you need to fulfill the commitment of 5 more movies in 2 years.

Worth checking out if you really want them.

I was looking for The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast on DVD's. I saw that someone is selling The Little Mermaid but Beauty and the Beast was only being sold on a VHS tape. I never bought from Ebay and had no idea how it worked. I like the sound of the half.com. Do you think I should get it from the half.com site or should I get it from Amazon.com? Just asking for opinions. :confused3

I'm also a member of the DMC, and just like in the stores. If Disney has put the movie in the vault, then you can no longer get it from the DMC.

Now, who you should buy from? For me it all depends on where you can get the best deal. I have found that sometimes the prices are little less on half.com than amazon.com. It all depends on what you are looking for. They each have a form of feedback, so you can check out your seller. But I think half.com's is better. I have sold to quite a few people on amazon, but if you were to look at my rating on that site, I have had only 5 people leave a rating for me.

But you might want to also take a look at ebay.com, they also have some sellers who offer buy it now (BIN), so you don't have to wait for the auction to be over. Then you can just pay them with paypal, with your credit card. But just like half.com, make sure you check the feedback file. But really, it's not that hard of a site to use. If you can post here you can use ebay! :earboy2:

Typing in Beauty and the Beast on ebay, this is what pop up: (hope it works)

Almost forgot! Make sure that the sellers you are buying from are selling the USA versions of the DVD. Their are some sellers, on all three of these websites, who are from the Asian coutries, who are selling either, their version of the movie, or pirated movies. SO CHECK EVERYTHING CAREFULLY!!!

I agree that the feedback system with Amazon is really lacking.

Here is a website for Disney DVD's on the left hand side close to the top under " Title Listings" there is a dark green link for the Out of Print DVD's. I have found this to be a great site with lots of info.

TS1 & TS2 according to this site is apparently set to be re-released in Sept for the 10 year anniversary (wow has it been that long?). It also shows Little Mermaid as releasing a Platinum Edition in Oct 2006.

Hope this site helps everyone keep up with there favorite movies.
