Hi. We recently purchased DVC through a resale to Boardwalk. It should be another month or so before we get Disney's approval and close. Here's my question: I already booked a stay in late February at the Beach Club. Provided our DVC membership is in place by the end of December, would that give us enough time to book something for February (either at Boardwalk or any other DVC resort)? Or are reservations something we typically will ahve to do months and months in advance? Thanks for any help,
Dave

Welcome to the club........we started at OKW in 93' anf have been very happy.

The earlier you can book your unit the better, but it really depends on the time of year and size of the unit you want. Holiday and summer time is harder you may have to book at the 11 month reservation opening, but in the middle of janury you could almost walk in off the street for a studio.

We did not exactly find that to be true last January. We called 30 days out for a late January trip. We tried to get AKV, BCV, & VWL. The only resort we could get a studio at for a week was SSR.

This was the first time we had ever tried to book a trip "last minute" but DD16 had just been released from a 9 week hospital stay & we wanted to get her to WDW to celebrate FINALLY being out of the hospital.

OP, yes, typically, reservations are something you will want to do months in advance. Hope you have a wonderful trip & welcome to DVC!!

February may be difficult. Schools in many states are off for Winter Break and folks head to WDW.
I know you are new members and wanting to book this DVC trip instead of an already planned trip. But I hope you bought understanding that in order to get exactly what you want at many times of the year you need to be able to book months and months in advance. We bought at BCV because we want to stay near Epcot for the Food & Wine Festival. I book at exactly 11 months out. If your style is to plan less than that DVC may not be the best choice for you.
Have you found the DVC Forums here on the DIS? You will find friendly folks who will Welcome You Home and answer your questions there. Many folks here on the Restaurant Forum are not expert in all things DVC. Head on over and join in.
Good Luck
