Question about DVC renting

Ok all, I need your expert advice. I'm doing a quick birthday trip with a friend in a few weeks and I asked a good friend at work who owns DVC if she would rent us some points to stay at the BWV. She requested the stay but we were wait-listed. In the meantime, the friend who I am going with booked us at Shades of Green which has a 30 day cancellation. My DVC friend told me we got the Boardwalk AFTER it was too late to cancel Shades and now she has to get rid of her 69 points (travel) before July 31, 2009. She lurks but doesn't post at all so I know no one would want to rent points from her. Is it okay for me to be the "go-between" since I have a higher post count? I have known her all my life and trust her completely so that wouldn't be a problem for me but I didn't know if it was allowed. Any advice?

Just wish those points could be used in November, which is when I need a DVC rent!

I'm no expert, but would think that you broker the deal as long as you disclose this up front.

I know, right? Sorry about the timing, but thanks for the advice. I just didn't want to do something that wasn't legit. I'll read up on the advise over on the rent/trade boards and see what they have to say over there. It isn't that I don't trust them there, per se. It is just I trust y'all better here since I feel like I know all y'all strangers. I mean, for real...this is the board we come to when something happens to our pets or when our kids use nail polish to redecorate - and members of our imaginary friends come here from time to time as well so it has to be all good. Where else do you get renamed Stroller Boy and take it in stride? See? Good, down to earth, trusting people here I tell ya.

Ironically, the one DVC rent I have had is from DVCsince02 (Jen), and that went awesome! So yeah, the folks here are great and I know I felt alot better about the deal because of it. I'm in the process right now of trying to find someone to rent from, but by using the tips posted from the moderators I think you can navigate your friend to a good deal. You can always send notes to folks you know on this board that are DVC members as well, sure they'll give you some advice.

Y'know, I seem to recall hearing from a "Stroller Boy" on another podcast....now, not pointing fingers or anything, just seems that one would have to be inordinately fond of the name to carry it place to place with him...don't you agree, STROLLER BOY????
