We currently own 510 pts at SS - we paid cash for them. We are going to add 240 pts at AKV and are thinking of financing them through DVC rather than laying out the cash right now.

What is the loan process like? If we're adding on but never financed through Disney, do we still have to go through a lengthy process, or are existing members automatically approved? I'm in the middle of doing taxes for our business, personal and trusts for my dh's aunt - I dont' want to be bogged down with paperwork.

Thanks!!!

The process was very easy and just one more paper with the rest of the paperwork.

We were approved over the phone and just had to do the paper so they would have it on file.

I think they don't go big into it as they can just stop you from using your points if it is not paid. It makes it easier then to say they would have to come and evict you.

DVC financing is really pain free. the approval process was easy and they approve "almost" everyone. If your credit is iffy they require a bigger deposit. So no stress if thats an issue. It was a breeze for us and all over the phone and fedex'd docs.
We loved signging at all the little palm trees and mickey heads:thumbsup2

They will take the downpayment over the phone and send you the paperwork. You will sign and sign then you get one paper noterized send it all back in. They set you up and you are good to go. It is soooo easy.

It's so easy, a caveman could do it.

Thanks everyone - our credit is not the issue - I just didn't know if it was done like a real mortgage with W2s and tons of papers and photocopies and icky stuff like that... I just don't have it in me right now. I'd rather just write out the check than go through all that (although we'd really just like to leave our cash where it is for the time being).

A phone call? I can do that. Must be part cavewoman or something.
:hippie: <---closest "cavewoman" smiley I could find.

I'll be calling this week, and then I will add the "Founding Member" logo to my siggie.

They didn't ask for any documentation. Though it's technically a mortgage, it's not much mor info than a typical credit card application..
