Question about DVC & DDP

We are lucky enough to have a friend let us use points of his for a trip next June. I don't know much of how it works, as we have never booked a DVC before. I do know that our friend needs to place the reservation for us...my question is can we purchase the DDP? We have been using it for the past 5 years and maybe 8 or so trips and it has always worked well for us, I just wasn't sure if we can use it with DVC.

Yes you can use the dining plans with DVC but you have to pay for it when you book it. Your friend will have to set it up for you but you can give him your credit card for billing of the dining. I believe you have to book it at least 48 hours before you check in.

Tiggermetoo is right, DDP has to be booked no less than 48 hours prior to arrival and your friend has to do it through Member Services. It does have to be paid for at the time of booking. I agree, it is well worth it!!!

You are correct that free dining does not apply to DVC stays on points.

You are correct. Stays booked on points do not qualify for any of the free dining promotions.
