This is our first year paying dues. Our dues statement has a due date of Jan 15th and a late date of February 15th. So does that mean we could pay our dues on February 14th without being considered late or facing any penalties?

It's no different than a property tax statement.

Due by date X, but delinquent if paid after [date X plus ~30ish days]

One thing to note however is if you have a DVC reservation where you check in after January 15 but before February 15, they will consider it late if paid after the check in date. Thus, you lose the 30 grace period.

ETA: I know I read this somewhere last year because I had a January 24 check in and made sure to pay my dues before check in just in case. However upon further research I can't find where I may have heard that. My inclination now is you're fine until February 15 regardless.

No, that will not happen. One would be fine with a late Jan/early Feb reservation and not paying until Feb 14th. Dues become late on the 15th so one wants to pay on Feb 14th at the latest.

I'm glad we don't have to pay right away in Dec. Discover card is having a 5% cash back reward for wholesale clubs beginning Jan. 1, 2018, so if I sign up for the promotion, wait until Jan. 1 then, order several $100. gift cards online from B.J's that are discounted 5% (you don't have to be a member), I can combine them into $1000. Disney gift cards at disneygiftcard.com, save 10% off our dues and other Disney expenses. The Discover card promotion is good for up to $1500. in purchases, and my spouse and I both have a Discover card to use for this purpose.

I do the same thing. Wish discover would increase the $$$.

Discover currently has 5% at Target online. So I ordered Disney gift cards from Target. Same discount. I did it last year too.

If you order Disney gift cards at Target you get the Discover 5% reward, but you wouldn't get the 5% off Target Redcard discount.

If you wait until January, you can use your Discover at BJ’s.
Discover is offering 5% back and BJ’s sells them for 4% off.

To order from BJ’s you do not need a membership.

So almost 9% off

I was disappointed when BJ's recently raised the price of their $100 Disney gift cards, reducing the discount from 5% to 4%, so thank you and lawgator for posting about the 5% off with Discover! That more than makes up for the price increase.

BJs sells a $500 Disney gift card with the same 4% discount but unfortunately they charge to ship those. You get free shipping when you purchase the $100 cards so they are a better deal.

I bought $1,500 of Target gift cards on there one day sale this month and converted them to Disney Gift cards the next day. I've been at Disney from December 16 through January 6, spending them I own 2 small contracts, both bought in the last two months. One is a direct contract at BLT and the other at OKW. Both have December UY. I was billed for both and paid the BLT dues but the previous owner used the OKW points this year and did check the contract that the money for the dues was held somewhere. I'm assuming that the title company will pay it but will contact them today to confirm.
