We were in Disney last year, but id not go to DTD. This year we have decided to take the kids to T-Rex as they have never been. I have been hearing a lot of complaints about traffic due to construction. We are staying on property and using Disney busses. How long should I allow for travel time? Our reservation is at 7:30 . Is the commute really that bad? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Well you are going to get the answers from, "I'm never going to DTD again because of the construction" to "It's not bad at all" so take your pick!:scratchin I'll tell you OUR experience from last December, it wasn't all that bad, parked in the parking garage and walked to DTD, If taking Disney transportation, I'd allow a hour before your time, you can always look around DTD if you get there early. Enjoy!

While we didn't eat at T-Rex, we did take a Disney bus from CBR to DTD last week and had no issues whatsoever. We did walk past T-Rex, though. I don't see it as being any different than any other year.

For a reservation at that time, I would maybe allow a bit more than an hour, depending on which bus stop you are at for your route. I had a DTD reservation for dinner last year, and the bus that showed up at our stop was already mostly full, we were the last ones to cram onto it because we had to make our reservation. Assuming you get a bus that is not full, though, an hour would be plenty as it isn't too far walking from the bus to get to TREX. I don't think the commute is actually that bad, especially if you are using Disney transport, but DTD can get bad depending on the crowd level and where you are in relation to the construction (I remember it being difficult to maneuver through a "construction zone" where walls were up on a busy night, but it not being as bad when the crowds were lower or I was away from the construction).

If its a park day, you could take a bus to Port Orleans/Saratoga Springs, or Old Key West and then hop the boat. But, in my recent experience the buses haven't had the much difficulty with the traffic. I'd give it an hour and half to be safe and hit the lego store if you have time to kill.

We were there last week. On Saturday evening the traffic was very bad and it took almost an hour to get to DTD. However, we went again on a Wednesday evening and it only took about 30 mins to get there. Both times we used the buses. I would give yourself at least an hour to get there.

We were at T Rex 2 weeks ago and we rode the Disney Bus from CBR. We always left around an hour before our reservation time. We had plenty of time.

I have never really had a problem with transportation going to DTD. I have had to wait for a bus a while longer than normal before but it happens. I prefer to drive myself, it is different with the construction, but It hasn't been a problem. I haven't had in trouble parking.
