We live in Alabama, about a 10 hr drive from most accounts. My plan is to drive to Gainesville the Sat. before our res. starts on Sunday, spend the night, and finish the drive Sunday morning. That way we have the entire first day of our trip to enjoy without being tired from a long drive. My question is, has anyone ever stayed there before? If so, what hotel do you recommend. I have a fear of booking a hotel in a bad part of town since I have never been there before. Any suggestions? Thanks!
