Ok whats the deal with the refridgerators at the dolphin i have heard some people say its $20 for them to empty it for your use then i have also heard someone say they simply took everything out of it for thier stay and left a note for the housekeepers. So whats the best way to go about it???

Thanks :wave2:

At Swan I just put some of my items in the fridge. For some reason I was charged for use of mini bar but cleared explained to the front desk that I just wanted to put my milk in there and she said it was fine and took it off my bill. I guess if you just are honest and explain it should be OK.

BE HONEST

:fish: A couple of days before you arrive call the Dolphin, ask for the fridge to be emptied - cost $20.

:fish: When you arrive ask if the room you are assigned has the empty fridge.
If not, ask for it to be emptied.

:fish: If not emptied when you get to the room - call room service- ask for the fridge to be emptied (ASAP).

:paw: BRING extra ziploc bags to fill with ice. Treat the fridge like a cooler.
It does not stay cold like your refigerator at home. So add a few sandwhich size ziploc bags of ice to the fridge to keep things like milk cold.
It is cool enough for soda or juice.

:paw: Your cost per day:
4 days = $5/day
5 days = $4/day
6 days = $3.33/day
7 days = $2.86/day
8 days = $2.50/day
9 days = $2.22/day
10 days = $2/day

It's not free, but not such a bad deal for the convience of not having to lug a cooler. :teeth:

Thanks for your responses! I'll call tomorrow and request for them to empty it for us

I think if they empty it for you they charge, but we were able to take a few things out, and put them on top of the fridge, and did not get charged. I think primarily we only took their water out (and maybe a soda or two). We then had room for a little milk, a large takeout container, and some water. (I think we also put a water bottle or two in the freezer section.)

We have rented refrigerators from A Baby's Best Friend. They deliver to the luggage room before we arrived and then picked it up again from there after we checked out.

They have a photo on the website and it was very nice. It would get things so cold, and it had a small freezer where we could freeze water bottles for the next day. It was very reasonable, too, I think around $50 for the whole week. The convenience of it was well worth the extra $30 that we would have paid to have the hotel's 'cooler' emptied.

The fridge we got from ABBF was like new and very clean.

The site is www.abbf.com.

Have fun

Taking things out of a fridge is VERY risky. They can and will charge you. (I once had a coworker who emptied out the entire frig at a hotel for her diet) They did charge her and would not remove all the charges. I can't say I blamed them. The frig is not provided for your "personal" use, but to make them money.

I've never emptied the fridge because of these possible issues and have just brought my folding igloo cooler bag, filled it up with ice from the ice maker and that is my fridge. It's also great to bring along because when I go to the pool I have the cooler bag with me also.
