Question about DNA testing

OK, I thought the sample had to "develop" or something, like growing in a test tube. Like I said, I know nothing about the real process.

That is true for something like an amniocentesis. When I had it done, it took about three weeks. Of course, they were looking for genetic code issues. I'm sure that is totally different from doing a DNA comparison.

It had to take a little time. They had to take the DNA from Pakistan to a reliable lab. Where do they airlift the wounded troops in Pakistan?

The airlifted his body to an aircraft carrier. Every aircraft carrier will have medical facilities to run dna testing and you better believe they probably got relilable samples from bin ladens relatives.

12 hours tops probably less if they had every thing set up and only had to wait for the body to get there.

I don't completely understand what this means, but it looks like the process of testing DNA itself only takes an hour or two.

Besides being in its location for duty, the carrier was there FOR this mission as a priority. Everything was set up to verify. No chance of error.
