Question about Disney Dining Experience...

Is the Disney Dining Experience membership good for one year? Do you think it will save me enough money that it will be worth it? If it is good for a full year and it covers 2 trips, then I know it will be.

arghh-- disney dining is really getting me upset--maybe since I dont understand how it works. I read and read and then comes another question then I am again lost.
I thought dinsey dining was paid per day for the ticket you got.

You're thinking of the dining add-on to the Magic Your Way packages. The Disney Dining Experience is a totally different program. It is only available to FL residents and AP holders and is good for 1 year from the date of purchase and provides 20% off meals at most WDW Disney restaurants.

If you enjoy the sit down dining experience, yes I think it would be worth the investment. We plan to invest in it for our next trip.

Allearsnet.com has a listing of the resturants covered. (Look under Dining and the link will be on the bottom of the page on the left hand side!) See if it covers where you might eat. Most counter services at MK and Epcot are not included for instance.

Was Disney always this confusing? the more I read about the dining plan the more I like it (once I understand it- took a while too)

We have DDE, and we really like it. The break even point is $250, so if you eat over $250.00 worth of meals at sit down restaurants it may work for you. Also, it's good for up to 10 people... really nice when you're dining with a group. It works better for us than the Dining add-on would since we like to eat at restaurants that aren't included in that program, or that would cost two meal credits. Another big plus is that "adult beverages" are discounted the same 20%, and the discount works at most of the lounges

We used it everywhere from the All Star Sports Cafeteria to Narcoosee's and Ohana. At Ohana, we had a party of 16 and the server extended it to the whole table if we agreed to have one check. (everyone agreed!) I know I paid for it on this trip alone, without really trying. (also saved money at Tubbi's by using my DVC discount)

My friends were very aprreciative and with just my family of 5 on the next trip, it will be bonus savings.
