Question about discounts & family suites

I was told, (by someone who probably has no clue but it did make me want to ask the experts), that the family suites at ASMu do not qualify for pins, discounts, FD, etc...... Please tell me that isn't true? We're actually thinking of looking into these for our Dec. trip instead of POR but not if that's the case, lol. Also will not be good since our family of 5 +1 under 3, will soon be a family of 6, so the family suites will be what we book. If I can't use discounts on those rooms, I'll be staying off-site again.

That's not true. While it IS true that the suites in most of the hotels rarely, if ever qualify...the two that I HAVE seen in recent offers (% off, free dining AND kids stay and play free) are ASMu family suite and BWI Deluxe room CL, both sleep 6. I know because we are a family of 7 (DS 2 until October)

This. There are not that many of them so they are snapped up really quickly when they are discounted.

Everytime I try to price a trip for ASMU family suites there is no availability. So even if a discount is offered you may have a hard time getting a reservation.

I think the trick is to call and book the minute you get the PIN code. I used mine the same day it came in the mail and got the discount for the ASMusic family suite at the end of November/beginning of December. I was surprised at the time because I didn't think it was possible. The PIN postcard said it didn't apply to suites, and I think that is what confuses people. It does apply to the value family suites, it just doesn't work for any other kind of suite but the mailer doesn't explain it.
