Question About Dining Ressie Change

Hello: Here's a question I hope you can help with.

I have a ADR for dinner at an Epcot restaurant for 7 persons. I now find out the group will be 4 people. I'd like to change the # of persons in advance so the restaurant can offer the space to another guest, but when I called I was told I had to cancel the entire reservation and rebook. I asked if there was a possibility I could lose the reservation while this was taking place and was told yes, there was a possibility. It's a very popular Epcot restaurant that I made months ago so I think that could happen and I would be heartbroken. I'd like to do the right thing but Disney doesn't make this easy to help.

My question is: did the castmember give me the right info? Or, is there a way I can modify the # with the online system. Or, should I just notify the restaurant of the different # when we arrive to check in so someone waiting for a no show can hop in.

Yes the CM gave you the correct information. I personally would try to change the reservation because I would feel bad about the difference in the number of ppl showing for the reservation but that's just me. When I've had a to chance I haven;t had a problem picking up the res (last time my mom was supposed to go and had to bail last minute.)

Honestly I would not worry about it until you arrived at the restaurant to check in, you will feel much worse if you lose the ressie for the time and date you want. Perhaps if you are in the area earlier in the day you could stop by and let them know of the change?

Look at it this way some party of three might get lucky that day looking for a walk up because of you.

The day of your ADR go to guest services in Epcot and let them know of your change in plans.
