How do you know what can be used for a snack other than the typical ice cream bar, drink, etc? Is there a price limit to what is considered a snack? Also, do you tell the cashier you want to use a snack or do they automatically deduct from your meal plan based on what you have purchased? Thanks!

Can't say exactly what the price limit is, but many items under that price limit can be purchased as snacks if the CM says so. Just ask them at the time you're in there. We've gotten all kinds of things for snack credits before. Somewhere in this board I've seen a list of "confirmed" snack credit items, if you're really obsessed to know the exact types of items. But it's a lot more than soda, popcorn, fruit, etc. they tell you in the brochure.

And, yes, the CM will just deduct a credit from your account and the receipt you get will show the amount of credits remaining.

The limit is $4.00. If there is something you are questioning you can look for the little purple and white square beside the price. This is how you know its available for the snack plan. Here is what it looks like. Just know... you can't use it for restaurant desserts. :thumbsup2

Here's a long list of items that Dis members have gotten for a snack credit and this list continues keeps getting longer:

As you can see, most items are under $4, but there's no absolute maximum price point (e.g. Sleepy Hollow waffles are over $4, but still qualify).

As far as using a snack credit, even though an item such as a bottle of water qualifies for a snack credit, I let the cashier know that I'll be paying cash because I'd rather use my snack credits for something more expensive.

At the bottom of the receipt it will say how many snack credits you still have left so just check to make sure the correct number of credits have been deducted/remain.
