Question about Developers Points

Hi!

I have another question for y'all. I have 250 Developers Points to use at SSR. I am going to book at my 7 month window, 7 months to the day I hope to arrive at SSR. (Am I right so far?) For the days I need, it looks like I will need 254 points to make the reservation, 4 points over what I have.

Am I allowed to "borrow" or "use" 4 of my BLT points to complete the reservation? Is there another way to pay for the 4 points, or should I just book a stay that's one day short and pay cash for the room for one night? I do need to arrive when I originally planned to, so I can't change my arrival date.

Provided your reservation is AFTER BLT "opens for service", yes. In other words, if you could use your points for BLT that day, you can use them in conjunction with your developer points.

If that last night that you say you'd be 4 points short on is before BLT opening (expected to be Sept 1 2009) you'd have to do it for cash (if you book it through MS you may get 25% member cash discount) OR an alternative would be to get a member to transfer those 4 points to you that you are short so you can make the reservation entirely with points. Just keep in mind that if you do get the points via a transfer that would be the only transfer for the year ( each member account is only allowed 1 transfer of points per year either into or out of their account ).

If the night you a short points falls on Sept 1 2009 or later you can use your own BLT points.

Oh poop! That's what I was afraid of.

Ok, so plan B would be to pay cash for the last night then. The two stays do go back to back so I can't use my points. Thanks for clarifying this for me!

So I have a slew of developer points to use up. We are going to have two studios (I hope) in May at Saratoga Springs. One for us (12 nights) and one for some family members (8 nights). So if I am say 10 points short I can transfer from my AKV account to the developer point account?
