Do you get DxDDP at a disounted rate or do you pay full price. My DH and I are thinking about going to WDW for free dining and would love to book DxDDP but I really don't want to pay full price for it if I can get regualr dining for free. Thanks!

I could be wrong about the exact $$s, but I think its an addition $32 per adult per night and & an additional $10 per child per night to upgrade the free dining plan to to the deluxe plan.

So it would almost be like purchasing the regular dining plan?

so, say the ones that have done it.
This has been verified by other sites with info, too on the FD.

You can compare for yourself by going to Disney's website and planning a few scenarios to see the difference. The free dining plan is in special offers. You can also click on Goofy on the right hand side below the castle video that is played on the first page. You choose your dates and other preferences and you will get price quotes.

Yes, it is the same as if you purchased the regular Dining Plan. So, you are essentially getting Deluxe for the price of Regular. The difference is that you get 3 meals a day and 2 snacks, and you can eat at all sit-downs or any combo of restaurants you choose. We are using some of the extra credits to eat at more 2-credit restaurants.

Dining per day
1 sit-down
1 snack
1 counter service

Deluxe per day
3 meals any way you choose
2 snacks per day

Also, I believe you need to call to get the Deluxe rather than booking it online, but someone correct me if I'm wrong. If you are just going to do the regular dining, you can do it online. They offered the Deluxe when I called.

I booked Deluxe during FD and for 2 people it came out to approx. $350 difference between regular price and the discounted FD price.

Thank you for all the quick answers I actually figured it out online. I guess I should've just gone onto Disneyworld.com.

You can book the discounted delux online, just change the basic dining to delux when you book, it will still show the banner for FD with the Deluxe dining in place for basic dining.

Don't forget that with the DxDDP you also get the appetizers back! The basic plan does not include appetizers.

And with the Dlx Dining each guest in the party receive a resort refillable mug. :goodvibes

No Waaaaay!!!! I didn't realize they had taken the appetizers away on the Dining Plan! They just keep cutting off the pieces little by little. We got the dining way back in 1996 when it was Food N' Fun, and it was awesome then. Ever since, it's been getting more expensive and less inclusive little by little. I guess it just shows where our economy is at.:sad2:

Anyway, I'm glad you pointed out the whole appetizer issue to me. I missed it in the "fine print" that they had taken it away.

You do know that the tip is no longer included with either the DDP or the DxDDP, don't you? You're right they do just keep cutting off pieces little by little.

Right, because the public can never be happy...so they cut and cut.

I like the first year of the dining plan, now it was nice.

It was really, really hard for me to have the 2008 plan after enjoying the DDP in the past few years, even without it being "free". In fact we paid a hefty amount for our party of 7 adults this Dec. for our 5 night DVC stay. I liked everything being prepaid, never worried about "getting our money's worth" and just dined at placed we wanted anyway. When we visited in Feb, our servers kept pointing out the "tip" area on the receipt, which now includes a choice of either 18 or 20% grat or a write-in area and we felt very rushed to fill out the receipt at each and every TS location. Then we were told what snacks we could no longer have- it was more "you can't" than "you can" which is a totally different feeling. Oh, and no substitutions are allowed if you'd prefer an appetizer to the entree although I was told at the outset of each meal that they'd be happy to open up a separate ticket if we wanted anything outside the plan. I'm afraid there will be alot of disappointed people this fall if they've enjoyed the plan in the past. At least it's "free" so that takes out some of the sting I guess and there's no question that free dining is a great value and incentive even with the new rules.---Kathy

Actually, on the deluxe, the tip is included for all dinner shows & CRT.
