Has this happened to anyone. My DD just got her divorce papers and is coming to the World with us in July. I booked her on a Award Ticket with Delta using her married name back in August. I called today to get them to change the name on the ticket and was told they could not do it. They told me she would have to take her old ID, her new ID, and a copy of the divorce with her to the airport when she travels to get on the plane. Delta stated that this is TSA rules. I contacted TSA they said it was Delta's rule. Who do I belive. Any suggestions?

It's Delta's rule. The ticket rules clearly state "no name changes". I would suggest that your daughter just keep her old ID to use for this trip.

I don't believe any airline will change the name on a ticket, not even SW.

Back in May 2009 when I booked our April 2010 tickets I spelled our name wrong. :rotfl2:
I used N's instead of M's in our last name. :scared:
After I noticed it on the confirm I received I screamed a few obsenitites and called Delta and told them about my mistake. :laundy:
They said no problem, we can fix that; they cancelled those tickets and issued new tickets with our named spelled correct, at no extra charge. :thumbsup2
They've always come through for me with flight changes and all other mishaps. :worship:
Even if you do get the name changed on your ticket. I suggest you take both I.D.'s and your divorce papers for your flight. :teacher:
Good luck all.
Joe

What you were told seems to be standard practice. I have a friend who got divorced, switched her name, and then ended up getting married again (all within 4 months). She had to carry all of her paperwork with her as well. Airlines don't change names on tickets. The only option to change the ticket is to cancel it and rebook it with the new name.
