I just booked our ressie and had a question if u eat at concourse steakhouse at the contemp using your table service are you allowed to order the filet mignon as your entree $26.99 plus your 6.99 appt plus dessert that seems to good to be true. Is there a dollar amount set for your entree order or your app? Thanks:confused3

Someone may have to answer you if Concourse Steakhouse has any menu restrictions, but what I have seen in the past that applies mainly to seafood, for example some sushi. I'm almost positive that you can order the fliet mignon and app and dessert using the dining plan. Concourse is listed as a regulart TS and not a signature dining, so you would only be using one TS per person. I know when you look at restaurants like this where you could easily spend close to $40-50/person the dining plan is a great idea. The reality is, it's hard to eat like that every day. I know, I've tried. I sometimes found myself ordering app. and dessert just b/c I could and not b/c I hungry. It is nice to try out everything and certain menu items you normally wouldn't ever try. Especially if you are going during free dining.

If its on the menu you can order it...
Th DP is a good deal but lets face it FM once in a week is enough for most people :lmao:
So other days you may order items that would be less or add up to the DP price.
You do make out with the dinning plan but I found most times I go to Disney I spend less on food than what it costs me for the DP as I just can not eat that much for a week.. I f I were going for a few days ;) but than you will spend a lot more time eating then enjoying the parks :confused3

Yippee!!!! I thought it was a great deal when i was using for character meals but this works out much better. Thanks for the info

We were thinking of concourse. Do they allow kids older than 9 to order off the kids menu on the ddp?

Kids over 9, can order off the adult, or kids menu. Since your paying the adult price (unless it's free :goodvibes ), then there would be no restriction on ordering a less expensive meal.

FYI, members of my family ordered kid's meals at HBD a few trips ago, when NOT on DDP and it was no problem. :goodvibes We didn't feel like getting a large meal and felt the kid's chicken would be a nice choice. Our server was great about it, too. He said we could even order a double order, if we wanted too. We were fine with the smaller serving though. The only difference was that we had to pay for our own beverage, it wasn't included like it would be if we were under 9.

Looking at the menu at concourse.....could I order the pan seared sea scallops appetizer under the ddp?

You should be able to. I don't think Concourse has any limits.

Some places will not allow you to order an appetizer listed for multiple people. They may allow you to order it if you and another person split it (did that make sense?)

DH and I usually eat at Le Cellier. Our bill is over $100 each time. We have never been restricted on what we can order. I LOVE the DDP!

This will be my first time buying the DDP! I'm very excited!! There are some places that I've always wanted to eat, but never actually made it there. This time I will make it a priority to eat at those places!! Just looking at the concourse menu I will spend close to 55 on my own including tx and tip! Not bad since I will have paid 38 and still get a counter service meal and snack!

My family and I ate at the Concourse in Dec 2006 on the dining plan and I had scallops for appt. , fillet for dinner and chocolate cake for dessert. It was all very good. They also allowed my DS8 to get the steak and did not charge us the $2 extra charge.

You've captured the DDP in a nutshell. Prior to the DDP, we (2A 2C) would eat mostly CS with a couple TS (buffets mostly) over the course of a week and if we went to a non-buffet TS it would be for breakfast (mmmm, Tonga Toast!) or a dinner where we certainly wouldn't run up the bill with appetizers and dessert. Now, buying the DDP costs us about as much as or a little more than we used to spend in total, so we're not saving much if anything in actual dollars (and maybe Disney is getting a few more dollars from us, actually) but we can eat at a lot of places we never would have tried if we were paying OOP, don't have to be price-conscious when ordering, and certainly won't ever feel hungry.;) If gratuity is ultimately removed from the plan that might change our calculus but for now it's great and a major factor in our decision to room on property.

I think you just quoted what I had planned to order! :)
