WE just decided that we're going in October and we'll be staying in adjoining rooms at All Star Movies. It's 6 of us (me, DH, DD 8, DS 6 and DS 4 and my Mom) but now my brother said he'd like to join us for a few days. I know we have room for him to add him on the hotel ressie but am wondering about the Dining Plan.

I know everyone in the room has to be on the dining plan, but can I add him to the dining Plan and buy him a 3 day ticket even though the rest of us have 8 day park hoppers? I realize I'd have extra adult credits but that would be okay I guess - it's the tickets I'm worried about.

thanks

When we made our reservations with the DDP the reservationist said we only had to buy one day passes and could then upgrade them when we get there to whatever number of days we each need. I will be saving mine for another trip as I have an AP. My DH has some days left from a previous trip so we will save his also for credit on a future trip. Everyone else will be upgrading to 8 day tickets.
You could buy just one day tickets for your mom, brother and one child in one room and then buy the 8 day tickets for the rest in the other room if they are separate reservation numbers. Then when you get there you can upgrade the one day ones to the number of days each of those three people need. It is a little more expensive to buy them there than purchase ahead of time but probably not the difference between the 3 day and 8 day passes. You can probably find some ways to use the extra meal credits by doing both TS breakfasts and dinners while your brother is there and or doing some 2 TS meals. The problem with the latter is that it might leave you having to pay for a couple of children's meals OOP. Good luck and hope you have a great trip.

Thanks - that's a great solution.:goodvibes Also, with the extra credits, I figure since they are pooled, we could use a few for me & DH to go out to dinner alone at a 2TS restaurants on a night Grandma babysits - at least this way the credits aren't wasted.

thanks again.

Unfortunately, the admission purchase requirement is such that everyone on the reservation must have the same admission pass (including duration). You can try to upgrade some of the admission passes (to longer duration) once you arrive, but some folks have been told that they cannot do that until after they've used up all their Dining Plan credits for the week. YMMV.

I do hope this was some sort of CM malfunction as I had 3 different reservation CMs tell me to do this as I already have an AP and DH has days left on previous MYW ticket from Dec. The rest of our group needs the whole 8 days. Even when we were booking we couldn't get everyone to agree on how many days they wanted and which options such as PH and water parks. I guess if we have to upgrade ours also we just won't use them until another trip as I don't think they activate until the first day of use.

To OP you will have to list brother on the reservation for the whole time to be able to get the DDP.

Good luck and the idea of having that dinner out sounds great.
