Question about DDp & 1 day ticket

We want to get the seasonal pass when we go in December and DH wants to do the DDP again. We know that we need to have 1 day tickets for us. The plan was to upgrade the 1 day ticket to the seasonal pass.

But what I'm unsure about is will that affect the DDP? We're staying for 7 nights so if we upgrade the tickets will we still have the DDP for 7 nights? I guess basically does the number of days/nights you have the DDP go off of how many nights you are at the hotel or based off of how many days your ticket is for?

Oh and we are planning on getting our 2 y/o a pass since her birthday is in February and she'll need one. So since she'll have a pass should I mark her as three so she can get the DDP as well? She eats more then our 3 y/o does so we'll end up buying her a kids meal anyways.

DDP is based on how many nights you are staying at the resort, not the length of your ticket.

If you want your child that is not yet 3 to have the DDP, you will have to say she is 3 and purchase her a ticket as well.

I would do the calculations on the 2 year old. If the dining plan is $11.99/night PLUS the cost of tickets, will you really save money vs. buying a few kids meals OOP? (if you are eating at a lot of buffets or AYCE for you TS, you won't need to pay for OOP meals there)


Why get the 2 year old a pass in December if her birthday is February? Why not just wait until February or the next time you go

ETA: I purposefully went to Disneyworld when my son was turning 3 so we wouldn't have to pay for anything, so I guess that is why I can't understand bumping up the age

I also wouldn't bump up a 2 yr old and pay for both the DDP and the park ticket.

Do you have another trip planned after the Dec. trip? If you don't go again until your daughter is 3, then purchase it then. Her AP will expire after the rest of the family, but thats okay. I just don't see how purchasing a ticket and DDP would be cheaper than paying for a few CS meals out of pocket, and possibly a TS or so if you aren't doing a lot of buffets and family style meals.

I find most CS meals large enough to share with a child. I take my niece with me and we share most of the time for CS.
