Question about DDE

My mom called to order the card for our upcoming trip in October. The cm told her that the card will expire from the day that it was purchased. Is this true?

That has not been the case but perhaps it has changed. We ordered ours in January and received it just before our Feb. trip. It expires Feb '06. Most people who have ordered have had the same kind of grace period.

I think for FL residents, it had been true that the expiration date was the same as the date you ordered. I haven't seen reports if that has changed this year.

But since your trip isn't until Oct, I would wait and order in late Aug or Sept or even early Oct if you will have another trip next Oct..

i was also wondering about this. we are going in october. but we can't get our tickets until we get there.(shades of green). so i'm wondering if i can call from wdw, order it, and see if they will let me pick up a temporary card at epcot customer service? what do you think?

Many people have reported doing this. However, the DDE office is only open M-F so you might want to keep that in mind in your planning. But even if you miss out on the discount for a couple of meals over the weekend, that 20% off come Monday will be sweet.

I ordered the DDE card the last week of April. My CC was charged 5/9. I received the card today. It expires 06/2006.
