Question about Dates, Packages and Discounts

I'm booked from Jan 1-4 w/ a package of only 2 MYW days. That first night is still considered a holiday and has holiday rates. If I were to get a room discount pin starting on the 2nd, would I be ineligible b/c of that first day? Would it apply to the last two nights?

I really want to stay in a deluxe, and even at rack the rates aren't bad for those last two nights, but that first night is a doozie. I know with 30-40% off, I would just go for it.

Have I thoroughly confused everyone w/ my question?

btw, we're spending the last two nights of our trip at Universal. I am excited but I feel horrible at the same time. 3 nights at Disney is such a tease. I wish I could go earlier, and I could, but rates are so high that my DH would pitch a tiny fit. Maybe I'll ask for it for Christmas.

room only pins should allow the discount to be on the available nights regardless if you have blocked out days or not. That's how it works when there is a room discount so not sure why it would be different. It's not like free dining where your arrival date has to be available. You will just be paying rack rate for the 1st

Thanks! Would those MYW tickets included in the package get in the way? I guess I could just cancel the whole reservation and start over.

nope not in the way. You can put a room discount on the room portion of a package
