Question about DAS card for wheelchairuser

Can anyone tell me how this has been working since it has replaced the GAC card? We get to book our Fast passes soon and are teying to figure things out.

If you have not read the WDW DAS thread near the top of this board, the information in post 1 is a DAS FAQs and it is still working like that.

Depending on the person's needs, many people using a wheelchair will not get a DAS card. If the needs are mobility and are met with using a wheelchair, the guest does not need and won't get DAS.
If there are needs related to waiting in the regular line in addition that are not met by using the wheelchair in line, the guest needs to explain those needs to the CM in Guest Relations.

I would book your Fastpasses for the attractions you know will have a long wait or that are your 'must do's'. That will give you the shortest wait for them.
Most attraction lines are wheelchair accessible in the regular line (Mainstream Lines) and you will be going into line with all the other guests. A few, like Small World, have a separate accessible entrance. When it is busy, they are giving wheelchair return times equal to the length of the Standby line. Those do have a one hour window of time.
When it is not busy, those attractions may not be giving wheelchair return times. If you have a Fastpass for them, you will be directed right into the line when you arrive at your Fastpass return time.
For those attractions, when using a DAS, the CM will give a wheelchair return time instead of a DAS Return Time if the CM knows a wheelchair is being used. That allows the DAS user to get a DAS Return Time for another attraction.

Is there a list of which rides have seperate times for wheelchairs? Im trying to figure out fast passes and I thought I read rides with wheelchair entrances will give wheelchair users be given a time to come back at a different time.

The disABILITIES FAQ sticky lists which rides have a separate entrance for accessibility. There are relatively few. Whether or not wheelchair return times are being given out may depend on how busy the park is that day/time. Unlike DL, WDW does not always seem to be handing out return cards for the accessible entrance. If the wait isn't long, they'll send you directly to that entrance.

This is incorrect information for most rides with an alternate entrance for wheelchair users, such as Small World or Jungle Cruise. This is the first I'd heard that it happened anywhere at WDW and certainly isn't how it's worked in my experience as a wheelchair user. I haven't ridden Living in the Land since pre-wheelchair so it is possible that they do it differently there than for most other rides. For most rides with an alternate entrance there isn't a way to meet up with your party when they get to the front of the line.

The list in the FAQ has the rides where there is an alternate entrance for wheelchair users. You may be given a wheelchair return card to come back to those, however, they don't always give out wheelchair return cards. It depends on how busy in general and how many people with mobility aids they have waiting when you go. The wheelchair return cards do have a time limit on them so that you must return within an hour after the time on the card. I don't know for sure, but I think someone reported that even using a FP+ time, they were given a wheelchair return card. Personally, I wouldn't use a FP+ time on any of the rides where wheelchair return cards may be given.

Btrrm, splash, speedway, iasw,jungle cruise have separate wheel chair queues. Not sure what else. Prob don't fp these though.

This is not true,
You are given a wheelchair return time,and your whole family stays together!
They do not make the wheelchair person stay alone other wise they would spend most the trip alone...
When it's not busy they sometimes don't give out a return time.

Most rides have no.way of the wheelchair user meeting up with their party at the ride,I can think of many where this would be impossible.

Your posts always have to have a negative directed towards the poster,making them feel there trying to cheat people out of something or get preferential treatment,I really don't think that numbers
5 and 6 need to be added to all your posts?

And many times the wheelchair user is a child. They will wait with their family, which is what we have been instructed to do every time.

We went in late April/early may. We used stroller as a wheelchair. At jungle cruise the line was fairly long. We were given a card with a return time. I seriously doubt they would have a party split up. None of the other separate entrance lines had a long wait, or we didn't ride.
