I know the Pepper Market is different than other food courts. I read that you go in, they seat you, give you a menu and then they bring the food to you. Is that right, or did I misunderstand? So it is set up like a more traditional restaurant then, except that the food comes from different stations?

No, not quite like that. I think I read that you go in and are seated, then you are given a ticket. You then walk around selecting whatever you want to eat and getting your ticket stamped at each place. You pay after your meal. They automatically add a gratuity.

ADisneyGirl has it right. We stayed there in November and enjoyed it.

You go in and they will seat you. If you have not been there before they will explain how it works. You have a ticket for each person in the party. They have different stations for different things. When you take your ticket to a station, after you request what you want they will stamp it for what you ordered. Once you have finished eating you take your tickets to the register as you leave and pay for your meals.

For Lunch & Dinner they have the following:

Pepper Market Lunch & Dinner Menu

For Breakfast they have the following:

Pepper Market Breakfast Menu

It seemed like they had a bigger variety of things to choose from than the value resort food courts.

Even though they add a gratuity to the check for dine-in, my DH still left a tip on the table, because the waiters & waitresses kept up with your drinks and checked to make sure everything was okay.

It is also nice that you are seated prior to getting your food, so you know you have a table to come back to instead of trying to find a table once you have your food like you do at the value resorts. You are not juggling your food & drinks while you are searching for a table. The wait staff takes care of your drinks for you.

If you dine-in but are using refillable mugs how does this work? Does your waiter/ess fill them or do you? If the waiter fills them what is the service charge ? Can you get your own drink refills, or do you need to wait for the server? What about topping off the mugs as you leave?

Is there any service charge for carryout? If not what is to stop you from ordering carryout, then just sitting at any open table in the food court area and eating out of your carry out containers?

Just curious.

As far as the refillable mugs are concerned, you or your server can fill them. If you let your server know, they will fill them for you. Or you can fill them yourself. There is not a service charge for them filling your mugs.

There is not a gratuity added to carryout food. You pay as you leave, so if you sat and ate your meal, and then presented the tickets without any food in hand, you would be charged the gratuity. Once you pay, you exit the Pepper Market, so you could not reenter with your food to sit and eat it there.

In this picture, it is looking toward the food stations, from the where the registers are. The food stations and entry are at one end of the pepper market and the registers are at the opposite end, with all the tables in between.

If you dine in and have a refillable mug you can get your own drink or they will fill it for you. The service charge is 10% added to your total bill. Your refill will not be on the bill.
If you just go into the Pepper Market for a refill only, the ticket they give you will say refill (or something like that), you go get your refill and on the way out just hand the cashier the ticket, and thats that.

There is not a service charge for carry-out!

Mercy, the menu they bring you is a listing on everything that they offer in the Pepper Market and where you will find it.

Here are some pictures of Pepper Mkt. I took.

Thanks for the explanations! Just one more question, after you choose what you want, does the wait staff bring your food to you, or do you get it yourself?

You go up to the different stations, pick out what you want, watch them prepare it for you, then take it back to your table. It's nice when your kids are old enough to take care of themselves, (and if you can trust them to order only what they will eat ;) ). Our preteen liked what was in the kids section (the usual) and our teenager almost always got a personal pizza. DH and I split a sandwich from the deli (huge) one night and another time I got a very good stir-fry. We liked it because of the great variety of food.

Just want to add that most servings are huge, and if you are not a big eater, you can split an entree. Rotisserie chicken is extremely large and the grilled tuna is actually 2 filets that they cook to your order (I like medium; husband likes med-rare.) Single pizza's are also large. It becomes much more affordable when you split.

Our family loves the Pepper Market too. My daughter loves the freedom of going up and getting her own food from the kids station. She also loves the churros.

Forgive me if I seem to have rocks in my head  But, how is that different than other food courts? Couldn't your daughter get her own food there as well?

I am not a fan of the Pepper Market. We have stayed there twice and haven't received good service that deserved a 10% tip.

There were some different selections than other moderates but that is one of the reasons we won't be staying at CSR again.

At most food courts you pay as you go. At PM, they stamp your ticket and your party will present all tickets together as you exit the restaurant. Some people make a big deal out of the 10% gratuity. Yet, if the food items were 10% higher, they would pay it and perhaps still leave a tip. As opposed to normal food courts, they will bring you drinks, flatware, napkins, etc. BTW, the Market nachos are pretty good. On one of those occasions where you don't want a full meal, but you want a substantial snack, two could share this menu item.:earsboy:

We were there this past Thursday for dinner and there was a very big crowd. We were there around 7:00, which is a popular dinner time, I guess. We had to wait in line to get seated and then also wait in line to get our entrees. I did not think the service merited extra tip. The waiter took our drink orders, brought us our drinks and only came back to clear the table. Maybe service is better if it isn't as busy. We had the Prime Rib and it was good, although I thought the sides were only average. However, we used the Quick & Casual Meal Vouchers and for the price of the vouchers ($11.50) we were very satisfied with our meal.
