I'm helping my boss's wife plan their WDW vacation. A friend of hers told her that it wasn't worth it to go to CRT for the character breakfast as it was too expensive. Her reason was that when they went, Cinderella was not in the restaurant and was only in the lobby. She said you could go there without getting PS and get your picture with Cinderella as she comes out every 30 minutes for pictures. I haven't been to the breakfast in several years, so I couldn't tell her if this was true or not.

When we went, Cinderella and all the princesses along with Prince Charming went around to all of the tables for autographs and pictures. Pocahontas was down in the waiting area greeting guests. Is it true that Cinderella is no longer upstairs in the restaurant now and that you're better off just going to the lobby to get pictures?

I do remember that when we went there for lunch last year, Cinderella was in the waiting area taking pictures, but we couldn't get one with her as we were called to go upstairs for our PS.

TIA

We went to CRT for breakfast last year in October for DD's birthday (thanks to fellow DISer who shared their reservation with us! :wave2: ) The Fairy Godmother was in the lobby (she was so sweet & spent a LOT of time talking to each child and making them feel special!). Cinderella and the other princesses were upstairs at the breakfast.

The cost of CRT is pretty much the same as the other character breakfasts at WDW. I felt like it was a good meal and worth the price.

We have had lunch there a couple of times and have seen Cinderella in the lobby both of those times.

I went to CRT for breakfast last December & at first I did not see Cinderella walking around the restaurant.
I asked our server about her & he said he is down in the lobby with the Fairy Godmother.

As far as the characters that were at the meal, we had
Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland & the Mad Hatter, Belle & Wendy (from Peter Pan)
Cinderella & Godmother were in the lobby

We were at breakfast in November and Cinderella was walking around in the dining room, along with Snow White, Belle, Sleeping Beauty, and Mary Poppins. I think it is unusual for Cinderella not to be in the dining room for breakfast.

We had breakfast at CRT on 4/29. The fairy godmother was in the lobby and spent a lot of time with each child. The rest of the characters, including Cinderella, Mary Poppins, and others female characters (no Prince Charming) go on a rotation throughout the restauarant and stop for a time at each table for autographs and pictures. We thought the breakfast here was very nice as was the character interaction. We had one of the later PS's at 9:45 a.m. and perhaps that is why it did not feel very rushed. The cost is comperable to other character meals and we knew we'd be paying more than your average breakfast because of the location and characters.

We were there on 4/25 for breakfast at 9:35 am. We knew it would be expensive, but it is no more expensive than any of the other character meals. The food was delicious, and to be in the castle, WOW! We had a window seat with a great view of the carrousel outside! It was well worth it! Fairy Godmother was in the lobby taking pictures and autographs and talking with each child. Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Mary Poppins were upstairs in the dining room.

Oh, by the way, Fairy Godmother was asking each child if they knew Sleeping Beauty's real name! My daughter was the only one who knew it was Aurora!! Then, later for the parade, Fairy Godmother was on the last float on the back and she spotted my daughter, waved to her and said, "Hi, Brittany, I remember you"! It was our little magical moment.

Thanks for all the replies.

Does anyone know if it's true that Cinderella comes down to the lobby the rest of the day every 30 minutes? I kind of think they were there for lunch and thought there were supposed to be characters there. She did say in her email it was a character breakfast, so maybe she was just unlucky that day and Cinderella was not in the restaurant. She told my boss's wife that she was better off going to Chef Mickey's instead. While I think CM is fun, I don't think it compares to eating in the castle.

This is the email I received from my boss's wife. This was sent to her by a co-worker telling about her dental hygeniest's trip last year.

I wanted to tell you too, that my dental hygeniest said they went last June to WDW and did the Cinderella breakfast and never saw Cinderella during the actual breakfast. She said you can go into the Castle at any time and Cinderella comes down to meet and greet visitors every 30 minutes. She also said you can wait in line to have your picture taken w/ Cinderella (which they did after the breakfast- she was upset that they spent nearly $100 for this breakfast and got nothing out of it) ..All this can be done w/out having to attend the breakfast. She recommended doing a breakfast or lunch called Chef Mickey. She said the characters make a point to visit every table and spend a few minutes with every child in attendance.

It really sounds like they went to lunch or dinner and not breakfast as it sounds like there were NO characters and not just Cinderella missing.

Last December, a CM told us Belle was in the lobby of the castle in her gold gown and took us to see her. This was around 5pm. So, it isn't necessarily going to be Cinderella in the lobby. It was really cool to get pictures of Belle in her gold gown (instead of her blue dress)- especially since it was my DD birthday! By the way, that CM said Belle is usually in the blue dress because it's easier for her to interact with the children since the gown poofs out so much.

Okay. I'm going to let her know that you can't always predict who will be in the lobby. She told me she's already decided to go ahead and try to get PS there instead of Chef Mickeys.

Thanks!
