sorry i'm new to the world of scrapbooking. I have a few supplies that i got for a disney autograph scrapbook but i could really use a sense of direction.
There are such things as crop get togethers? I live in northern virginia and would love some more info if anybody has it.
i love the idea of creatively presserving our memories and i can spend hours in a craft store. Oh yes, i have billions upon billions of pics just lying around that need a home. Please help me find them a good one:wave2:

Welcome to the world of scrapbooking. I'm not from Virginia so I can't help you there. I recently took a class on scrapbooking my local HS offered as a night class. It was 8 week of fun and learning. I sure did learn a lot.

Once a month a CM consultant offers a night on scrappin at a local hotel in the town I live in. 4 hours of fun.

Most craft stores offer classes too. If they don't they can probably hook you up with someone who does. Check their bulletin board.

Good luck with your new hobby. It's so much fun and addicting.

Welcome to the world of Scrapbooking. Your going to have alot of fun. If you buy any of the scrapbook mag: Creating Keepsacks, Paper Kuts to name a few in the back they have a list of some scrapbook stores and hopefully some will be near you. The LSS near me have Mn Crops that has helped me alot see other people and how they scrap. They also even have a scrapbook 101 class for beginers.

Good Luck

I just got my sister into scrapping, too! Welcome.

If you don't want to buy a magazine yet, you can find a store locator here at creatingkeepsakes.com.

Definitely find a store near you and either call or go in to inquire about classes and crops! I've met so many wonderful friends at crops!!

Hi we are neighbors. However I'm stuck living across the river in Mont. County. But I grew up in Springfield! Many of us on the boards live around you so it depends on what city you are close too if you need a good scrapping store. Fairfax City has a scrapping store right on mainstreet and if you live closer to Louden there is one called Memories close to Dullas Town center. We have one in Germantown Called Scrapbook Corner that has several beginner classes a month, to help you get started. You can also go to Creative Memeories web site and ask to find a consultant near you. Or you can pm me and I will give you the number of mine.

thank you all for your information. I'm hoping after study for finals this weekend, i'll get some things together (SNOW DAY!!!).

Julieanne: You said that there is a place called memories by dulles towncenter? I live like 5 miles away! could you tell me exactly where? is it in the mall?
I will def. keep your name so i can pm you about the CM after finals. Thank you soooo much for all your ideas
i'm going to have to make this thread one of my favorites now :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I work right near the Memories store at Dulles, it is right across from the mall- on the other side of Nokes near the Atlanta Bread Co and TJ Max. They have a good bit of disney stuff and have some classes, but I highly recommend that you watch your receipts carefully.. they are always double charging us for things or charging the wrong price!

The Scrapbooks Plus store is not too far away it is down off of 50 across from Anita's (I think there is a toys r us near by) They have great stuff, and are a little cramped, however they are supposed to be moving to a bigger space in the same center. They have lots of classes including SDU (Scrapbook Design University) They even have their own line of paper, made by the owners husband!

Julianne also mentioned My Scrapbook Store in Fairfax.. this is my favorite all scrapping store in the area-- it is also where SDU got started. The folks there are very experienced and helpful, they also have many classes. They are very social here, so if you are looking for others to scrap with, this would probably be the place to start!

Julianne: I'm also in Montgomery county! :) There is another Scrapstore on Randolph Road (just off Rockville Pike) in Rockville called Just Crop It! :)

There are also some really great websites out there for scrapping.. twopeasinabucket.com is probably one of the largest. They have a layout section where people post their work, it is a great place to look over to get ideas.

Heatherow- Thanks for the info! If you have not guessed by previous posts I hate Mont. County! I'm a NoVa girl at heart. The only good thing in Rockville has always been ACMoore. I never knew there was another scrap store there. I'll have to check it out, in between rush hour of course!:p . What a long cummute you must have everyday! I live in G-burg and there is just no easy way to get to Sterling.

Afsi-I hope you were able to have a shopping spree dispite the snowy weather. It was a prefect weekend for sitting home and scrapping!

I live in Northern VA but am a Marylander by birth & heart. Born in Bethesda, lived in PG county, then Charles, then PG county again, then I met my dh and moved to VA. When people ask where I am from I sometimes slip and say MARYLAND!

Wuv Tigger- Well after all that time in Maryland it is a good thing your Husband found you and moved you to the promised land. LOL It took me 4 years of living in Maryland before I could bring myself to change my drivers lic. I only did it then becasue it was about to expire. I still have a hard time saying i live in Maryland. After six years of complaining my husband is finally giving in and I called a realitor last week. Within the next year and a half we should have saved enough to go back. I dream of the day!

BTW my DH grew up in PG county in Chiliam. Yikes I know!

He knows he did a good thing! We celebrated our 12 yr anniversary in Aug. and realized a # of the marriages we have witnessed are no longer.

Did you hear the Supreme Court said MD has to share the H2O in the Potomac River w/ VA? I can't believe it took so long to come to the right decision.
