hello all. ok i am seriously considering applying for the cp, but as i talked to some people i was told that i can only be in specific programs in order to do this, and was also then informed that the program i am in wouldn't allow me to do this. so my question is, if i am in the interior design field would i be able to do the cp? i suppose i should ask someone in my school about all this, but i thought i'd ask here first and see if anyone knew off hand (before i try to talk to school officials that look at me like i'm a martian when i ask them a question regarding programs within their own school (...sorry it's been a long day)). thanks for the help.

anyone can do the CP as long as you are in good standing with your college. These are entry level positions and not in any particular field.

Professional Internships are when you actually applying for positions in a related area.

I hope this helps.

CPs are great for everyone!! There is NO requirement for certain majors. A teh fish mentioned, only in the Professional Internships do they really look at them. The only place you may have an issue is with your school giving you credit.. its entirely up to them. Talk to your advisor! The Career Center might have some information as well as to what other people in your school have done...

If what you're asking is "is there a specific job on the CP for you to do that relates to your major" then that answer is no. But if you complete your CP you can look to apply for the professional internships which are specific to certain majors such as your own.
