question about converting to RO

Hi! We are 4 adults and our trip is 3/8-3/14 and a split stay (AoA for the first night, BC for 3 nights, CR for 2 nights). I have AoA and CR booked as room only and our 6-day tickets w/park hopper tied to the BC ressie (because we get in so late on the first night, no need for tickets on the 8th).

If a RO discount comes out that works with our dates for BC I guess I will have to buy the 6-day park hoppers separately? What's the cheapest way to do this--thru Disney or somewhere else?

You can add a room only discount to a package. It just discounts he room portion.

If you decide to go elsewhere for the tickets you'd have to cancel and rebook.

This is correct. There is no need to cancel/rebook as a room discount can be applied even if you have a package, with the discount applying to the room portion only as this poster said. With that said, since RO and packages are different reservation systems, you would have to cancel and rebook if you do decide to change your BC package to RO. You would have to pay a new deposit equal to 1 night's room rate + tax and wait for a refund on the package as money can't be transferred between the two reservation types.
