We are considering booking flights via Continental which are operated by Virgin for the time we have chosen.

Does this mean we can use DTD for check in on the way home??? - which would be great

Thanks for the link and I do understand the DTD virgin procedures but I am not sure if we can use the check in facility if we have booked through continental airlines or Would we have to check in at the continental airline checkin at the airport

You check in with Virgin for a CO/Virgin code share. We did it a few years ago. Also last Oct Booked with KLM but was codeshare with NWA, used NWA to check in. Again this August booked with AirFrance but Delta codeshare, check in with Delta.
Its always the actual airline you are flying with you check in with so you will have no problem using DTD if you pay the fee.
