My favorite server on the Wonder is Januar from Indonesia. I was wondering if somebody could tell me how to contact him. I was wondering if his family was okay after the tsunami and if not, if I could send him a donation for his family.
Thanks!

There are people on the Wonder now. Post on that thread and ask if they will doit for you.

If not I will be on the wonder on 1/27 and would be happy to. Just PM me if you need me to.

Be careful of a possible "no fraternization" policy on DCL. You wouldn't want to cost Januar his job, despite your good intentions.

edit - I don't mean fraternization in the "sexual" context...just that staff / guest relationships are supposed to be professional. I also didn't mean to imply there was any "law" (and I'm unsure what the DCL Policy might actually be) but in most service industries there is a policy. Just wanted to make the poster conscience of the possibility.

I'm quite positive that Disney would fire him because guests are concerned that his family was hurt in the tsunami.

Respectully, and forcefully, I have to disagree with this opinion. Disney does indeed have very specific policies regarding employees "fraternizing" with guests. Without getting into details, I have had some personal experiences with these (I'm not, nor have eve been, a Disney employee). In the case of DCL, there is a process that one can go through (i.e. filling out certain forms and getting certain approvals) in order to have a Disney employee join your "group". Obviously, not just any Disney employee will do this--they only "join" groups whose members they know--typically cruisers who have established relationshps with that member over the years.

I have personally witnessed cases where Disney employees were involved in private parties, but with the appropriate approvals. Their jobs were not, nor are not, in jeopardy.

As long as it's done on the "up & up", having Disney employees be part of your group is not a categorically-problematic issue.

I honestly think that Kaykel's meant to say that they would not fire him because someone inquired about his family.

We've all been wondering if the staff was impacted.
