Question about Congo River mini golf

We are planning to do more stuff outside the parks next trip so I've been researching what's available and how much things cost. Congo River's website lists admission as $11.99 but also has several other activities - boat rides, feeding the gators, and mining for gems. My question is are all these activities included in the admission price or are they extra? And if there is an extra charge for each, how much is it? I couldn't find anything on their website stating this but that seems like a lot for just 12 bucks. (Or maybe paying Disney prices all these years has just desensitized me to what is reasonable.:rotfl:) TIA:)

$11.99 is just the price for a round of golf. Other activities are extra.

We have not done the boat rides or mining for gems, but we have fed the gators (which is about $3.50 for a small bag of food) and fed the koi (25 cents per handful of food from a gumball dispenser). I have yet to see anyone riding on their little boats...not even once. I don't think that particular feature is a very popular add-on.

Congo River is one of our favourite chains of mini golf in Orlando. The courses are always in excellent shape, the holes are challenging but still fun, staff are very friendly, and the theming and music on the course are really great. We also enjoy the add-ons you mentioned (gator and koi feeding) vs. just a standard mini golf experience.

As far as the golf price goes, you can trim that cost down with various coupons and discounts that are available. Sign up for emails on their website, and offers are automatically sent to you on a monthly basis. The Entertainment Book had a coupon for buy one round, get one free in last year's edition (I don't know if its in there again for 2014). Each Congo River location offers a second round at half price. Then there's a length-of-stay pass available for about $27 (you can golf as often as you want, at any of the six area courses, for one price for the duration of your vacation).

If you check out the links to my trip reports in my signature, the Christmas 2012 trip report features our visit to Congo River in Kissimmee on page 10. The August 2013 trip report features two of Congo River's courses.....the one in Kissimmee (again) and the one located on International Drive. Oddly enough, both are also on page 10 of that report as well. There are lots of photos of both locations to give you a good idea of what is in store if you choose to visit :) .

Gina, thank you so much for all the info. I read through your August 2013 trip report and enjoyed it so much. Your pictures are awesome! And very helpful. I got lots of ideas for new stuff to do AND new places to eat. The cost of Disney food is one of the reasons I'm looking to do fewer days in the parks.:faint: Holy moley, the prices have gotten outrageous. And we just haven't been that impressed with the food. We're more Chilis, Golden Corral, TGIF's kinda folks.:)

You're welcome :thumbsup2 .

We're no lovers of dining at Disney. We have our favourites, of course (we love the character breakfast at Ohana) but we generally find we get much better meals for WAY less money offsite. Its particularly novel for us to enjoy the American chains that we don't have here at home.

If you are looking for a "different" dinner idea, I highly recommend the Outta Control Dinner Show on I-Drive. The food is good (all-you-can eat pizza, salad, popcorn....its really hard to foul up pizza!), unlimited beer and wine.....but the entertainment is AWESOME. Tony Brent is part magician, part comedian, and an absolute riot. At under $25 pp its a steal, IMHO. Can't recommend it enough.
