With or without a code, we are staying at the Poly 11/18 - 11/25, GV room. Right now we have AAA disc on our whole stay.

Now IF a code comes out, I presume it will not be availabe for 11/23 - 11/25 (the Wed - Friday of Thanksgiving) . So then how does the code work for my dates?

Would I need 2 ressies, and if so do I have to check out then check back in for the different rates? And because of that I MAY have to change my room during the midle of our trip?

Or does the code get applied to certain dates, but not to others?

And, could I use a code for part of the trip, and then the AAA disc for the dates the code doesn't apply? I would presume with this option I WOULD have to check out and then check back in and possibly switch rooms.

This is all VERY confusing!

JMHO but I think if they come out with some codes in the fall, they will cover Thanksgiving as well if they stick to the same deals that they've used the last 2 years.

Actually in 2004 the codes that came out in August were good for stays up to 12/25/04 (notice no blackout for Thanksgiving):

Check in between 9/30/04-12/25/04 Annual Passholder room-only rates became available on 8/25/04, exp 12/25/04
Check in between 9/30/04-12/25/04 "available to anyone" room-only code became available on 8/26/04, exp 10/10/04
Check in between 9/30/04-12/25/04 package discounts for general public became available on 8/26/04, exp 10/10/04
Check in between 9/30/04-12/25/04 package discounts for Disney's Visa cardholders became available on 8/26/04, exp 10/10/04
Check in between 9/30/04-12/25/04 Florida resident room-only code became available on 8/26/04, exp 12/25/04
Check in between 9/30/04-12/25/04 "available to anyone" room-only code promoted through McDonald's restaurants became available on 9/16/04, exp 10/10/04
******
Then in 2005 (10/15 thru 12/19/05) they had the "Best Rate" program where you had to book 120 days in advance (later modified to 60 days in advance) which was discontinued, but also no blackout Thanksgiving dates.

Check in between 10/15/05*-12/19/05 Annual Passholder "Best Rate Program" (*program supposedly started 10/8/05 but required 120 day advance purchase, so first check-in date actually bookable was 10/15/05) became available on 6/17/05
Check in between 10/23/05-12/25/05 package discounts for general public became available on 9/29/05, exp 10/22/05
Check in between 10/24/05-12/25/05 Annual Passholder "Best Rate Program" changed to 60 day advance purchase on 8/25/05
Check in between 12/20/05-12/25/05 Annual Passholder "Best Rate Program" became available on 8/6/05

I think you have a good shot of Thanksgiving discounts for your whole stay, just keep watching later this summer and jump on them as soon as they hit because I imagine availability will be the only problem! :thumbsup2

We have ressies for two cabins at FW 11/17 - 11/25. If a promo code comes out, can it be applied to the reservation that you already have?

Thanks Seahunt...The only reason I presumed it wouldn't cover Thanksgiving is I received an email pin code LAST YEAR for the fall. It was for Oct thru early Dec, but I remember it did NOT include dates for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately I was unable to use it.

Looks like mid/end of August is goign to be a busy time for me...codes & CP!

Yep, if it's available for your ressie, but you'll have to ask for it to be applied (via the way you made your original reservation, either through Disney or travel agent) - it won't automatically change your res when and if a deal comes out without your help. If you aren't subscribed to mousesavers.com yet you should do that:

http://www.mousesavers.com/

Scroll down to sign up for their newsletter and update email service - they'll let you know as soon as deals "hit", and you should also just keep watching the DIS board and people will start posting their dates and prices as soon as something opens up.

I know a lot of posters do not feel that Disney will be offering as many deals as in the past, but my always-hopeful heart thinks that they will! :rotfl:

Thank you Seahunt. I will definitely sign up for the newsletters. Every little bit does help -- more money to spend while we are there! Of course with 2 DGD with us for their first trip to DW, I am sure we will spend any savings and more!

Unless it has recently changed, the rate for your entire stay is based on the rate for your check in date. So if a code rate comes out that is valid for 11/18, you should be able to get it for your entire stay. Of course that assumes there are rooms available for the code - you can't just convert an existing reservation to a code rate.

Best wishes -

That is my understanding as well.

I HOPE they have GV rooms available at the Poly... I had to go thru ALOt of convincing to get DH to agree to stay there.
