Question about Class Action Settlements

I saw a Legal Notice in one of my magazines about a Dannon Activia/DanActive Yogurt product class action settlement. The settlement has to do with Dannon's advertising about the benefits of the products' probiotic bacteria. You can receive up to $100 if you purchased Dannon Activia or DanActive Yogurt.

I have purchased (alot!) of Activia over the last few years so I was going to submit a claim. I have never submitted a claim for a class action settlement. How does this all work? I obviously don't save every receipt or UPC for groceries that I buy. The documentation states if you submit information to receive more than $15 then you have to sign an affirmation. If you submit information to receive more than $30 then you also have to send receipts or other proof of purchase. So, I'm guessing if you file a claim without an affirmation or receipt or proof of purchase you get $15?

Thanks for any information.

I would assume as you said, if you send in a claim without any supporting documentation you'll receive $15. I filed a claim for a class action suit a couple years ago regarding excess fees charged for overseas ATM transactions. I had traveled overseas during the time period in question, so I filed a claim. I no longer had any documentation to back it up and got around $30.

I would send in a claim even if you can't find any receipts/UPCs to go with it. The worst that can happen is you don't get any $ and are out a stamp. And if you get even $15, it's $15 more than you had before. :thumbsup2
