Question about Chinese food

We ate Chinese food last night for dinner, and now we are all sick!

We had Sweet and Sour Chicken, white rice, and egg rolls.

Could the chicken been bad? And, how long should we feel so bad?

could it have been some of the ingredients in the food?? my mom gets headaches very badly if she eats chinese food with msg in it and that usually leads to sickness. the food could have been spoiled also like you said. have you ever had this problem before with chinese food? hope you feel better soon!!!
p.s. i was just thinking of having chinese for lunch but decided against it. was this an omen lol!

I doubt it is food poisoning because you probably wouldn't be able to get away from the bathroom to get on your computer. Are you sure it's not an MSG allergy, like someone else wrote? My brother gets really ill from MSG but is fine to eat Chinese without it.

The worst case of food poisoning I ever had was after eating moo goo gai pan (SP?)

If it's food poisoning, it usually hits 4-8 hours after you ate and lasts for about 12 hours (I think I recall). How sick are you? (You'd be on the bathroom floor trying to figure out which way of "getting rid of" your meal is worst.

If it's not that bad, maybe it is something else - like those things listed above.

I don't think food poisoning, unless it is very slight, but maybe something was spoiled.

Years ago my BF had bad dumplings and was sick for days. I think you'll know if it's really just something spoiled or if you have full on food poisioning.

My brother gets "stomach issues" from MSG, so I would think that could be it.

Just make sure you are drinking lots of water to stay hydrated, especially the little ones.

My son is ill everytime he has chinese.We at first thought he was just over eatting, but have since been told it could be the MSG...it doesnt cause just headaches. So next time we are going to try ordering without the MSG.
