We were on the dp last August (free dp) and we stayed at POFQ. At that time when we ordered cs meals there was not a seperate childs menu so my kids got to order anything off the menu. We shared many cs meals between the kids which worked out fine.
I guess I haven't been paying close attention to the dp threads, but am I correct in assuming that there are now specific child menu's at the resorts counter service??

Does anyone have pictures of the meals?? My son who will be 9 when we go next year doesn't order off the childs menu anymore when we go out, he has really been growing and a 4 piece chicken nugget meal doens't even come close to filling him up. Just curious as to what child meals at cs include as sides?? Last year he would have no problem in eating a whole sub sandwich or the chicken wrap at POFQ. He is not a "big" kid, just growing tall and very active.
My kids are not big pbj kids and none of mine like g rilled cheese. We don't go out to dinner much so when we do they like to get hamburger and fries or chicken strips. I was pretty convinced we would do the dp next year again (even if we have to pay oop), but I would really like to see more options on the kids menu. OUr kids are pretty healthy eaters, but when we are on vacation half the fun last year was them being able to eat what they wanted without me making sure they got all their veggies everyday.

Just curious to those who have just returned what the child menu meals were like and if any of you have a big eater like mine what did you just buy extra food for them??:confused3

If you go to allears.net and go under dining, you can look at the menus for most restaurants and food courts. I have not been to Disney on the DDP, but from what I have read on these boards, the kids CS meals are fairly limited. I believe that sugar free jello is the only dessert available at alot of the CS places. However, there are a few CS places that do not have a separate kids menu. If you do a search on this topic, you will find several threads that may be able to answer some of your questions.

we were at WDW last August for free dining as well. There were definitely kids meals in the resort CS locations. My kids ate them every day. We just also shared some of our food, as well, since we had plenty. Have your son go ahead and eat a kids meal, and then share your dessert, let him get a snack with a snack credit, or pay OOP for an extra side.

And have a wonderful trip!!!!!!

We had the DDP during Easter. My DS8 had issues with the food. There was no chicken strips and the choices were not to his liking. I paid OOP at times.
I was upfront and honest with every CM. I presented my cards, we have 2 rooms because we are a family of 6. Only 2 are considered children.
At some CS locations, the CM let him order chicken strips and get a regular dessert. Huge issue with 4 children. Some did not and I paid OOP.

At TS buffets, they were not a problem as he could eat what he wanted. However, at TS where we ordered off the menu, his choices were bleak. They did have cheese pizza, a hot dog or hamburger. But if your child eats more than a 5 year old, it may be an issue.

Look on allears, they have picture of the children's menu. It is the same menu all over Disney.

We were just there for 8 nights on the DDP. I have 6 year old twin boys and the menus were hit or miss for them. They are fairly picky eaters. Everyplace we went with the exception of Pizza Planet had a kids menu. Sometimes there was no problem finding something for them. Other times it was tough. A few times we ordered adult CS meals.

On the CS credits. Disney does not track the credits separately for kids and adults. However, your card will indicate the number of adults and childen. Once I went and ordered 4 adults CS lunches (this was somewhere that had poor childrens choices). The CM told me I had to order 2 kids meals. However, I explained that I'd used more kid than adult credits during my stay (true because I sometimes got the kids breakfast and me and hubby, but the CM had no way of knowing that). She said 'no problem' and rang it through as two transactions.
