Question about checking in at DVC resort

just a quick question....

might be a stupid one, but....

when checking in at a DVC resort, do you need your entire party to be present to get all your card-keys?

my parents and i will arrive first and will check-in during the afternoon. we plan to get our room and card-keys then. my sister is coming from another part of the country and will arrive late in the night, ~10pm.

will DVC resort allow us to get her card-key for her when we check-in? or does she have to get her own card-key at the front desk when she arrives? we prefer to avoid a second visit to the desk and go directly to room since SSR desk and rooms are far apart. and we want her to have her own key to get in and out on her own.

If it's under yours there will be no problem for you to check in. Otherwise I would call the front desk and explain the situation.

Yes, you can pick up all key cards at the same time.

As long as all the names are on the reservation, they can get their keys. My In-laws "beat" us to BWV back in May and they were allowed to check in without me. They may have to provide a credit card number for room expenses---if so, you can always change that to a different card later.

yup, the DVC reservation is under my name and membership #. and i'll be checking in first with my parents as guests. my sister is a guest as well. just wasn't sure if i can pick up her card key all at once to get it done in one shot. sounds like i can. thanks for your help!

If it were me, I'd make sure my sister's name was on the reservation and I'd leave her key at the front desk for her to pick up when she arrived.

Otherwise, she'd have to call me or otherwise let me know when she got there to find out the room number and directions to the room. If she gets her own key, she can get directions from the CM and also get help with her luggage (if she needs it) from Bell Services.

oops, forgot to mention that all four names (myself, parents and sister) are on the reservation. and the plan is for us to pick her up at the airport when she arrives. we plan to grab some dessert somewhere and then head to our slumber. since we arrived and checked-in already, we just wanna drive straight to our room after we pick her up. guess we're lazy.
