Question about check in dates

Quick question about check in and check out dates: Do you choose from them (I know there's a couple of set ones) or are you assigned one? I'm Fall 2009 Merchandise but can't accept until I talk to my university a little more and work out some details.

you get to choose from the ones that are available still. and there are four different check in dates and two check out dates(the first two check in dates check out on the 2nd of jan, and the second two check out on the 8th) if a date fills up though, you can't get into that date.

I checked in a while back, but when I did it was May 20th and May 27th for the FA.
