Question about changing resorts

It looks like we are adding a day onto our stay
It looks like GF (where we will be staying the week) is booked for that extra day
Soooo I booked a room for our last night at the Poly and we will be changing hotels. I know they will move our bags BUT... do we have to check out at the GF and then go to the Poly and check in or can we do it all at once at the GF?

I am not thrilled with the idea of spending time in line at the Grand only to take the monorail over to the Poly and check in ...all before the parks open

Is there another way?

Unfortunately I really think that you are gonna have to check out at GD and then check in at the Poly
I know its not what you wanted but I can't imagine other way!!

We have done this several times -

1. Sometimes we were down grading resorts and we have gotten lucky and called down and talked to the manager a day or two ahead of time at our primary hotel and they have had a cancellation and rebooked us in our same room. Which meant we never had to move at all. They have been very good

2. Sometimes we have upgraded and started at a lower value which clearly I wanted to change however, I always get up several hours before the parks open and carry our stuff or have allowed Disney to move it for me. This way I didnot have any line at 6-7 am and it never affected my day other than one person (me) got up early
