Question about changing # of people

I think I've lost my mind but we are looking at heading to DL for spring break but we are DL survivors so we will be okay. However I would like to take my nephew who has never been. We will not know for sure if he can go until Jan but I would like to book now through costco if possible.

Is it possible for me to book now and add him? Or should I book and include him and then take him off the reservation if he can't go? It really changes the room we will be getting going from a group of 4 to 5.

If it helps we are wanting the embassy suites south or hyatt as our hotel.

I would appreciate any help.

I wouldn't book him until you know for sure he is going or not. There is a cancellation fee you'd have to pay to change your reservation and it changes depending on how far out you are from your trip.

I'd call Costco Travel, they are so super nice on the phone and very helpful and see what they say and what advice they can give. If anything, what you might have to do, I'd think is just buy him ala carte and let the hotel know you are having one more guest in the room. But he won't have the costco special vouchers that the rest of you would have. I didn't check, but make sure at the hotel you are choosing that you can have 5 people in a room, just in case. I know there are some places that limit the #, so double check that also. But call Costco, they are the best!!!

Thanks, I think I will give them a call. Its just a frustrating situation because we have paid for him on trips before only to have his mom change her mind so I want to try to make sure I don't waste a lot of money.

You can change with Costco up to I think 30 days before your trip with out cost. So I would say not to book him until you know. Costco said if we had any changes to call them.
