Question about changing dates

Hello friends,
question about changing dates if anyone has. we originally booked jan 8th for a 4 night on the dream, because it's super close to our son's birthday (all of this unbeknownst to him). but after reviewing prices this am we can save $500 if we sailed the next week. so the questions are:
1) is it difficult to change a week?
2) does anyone know if the price difference is due to a peak week aka busier than the following week?

1) Not difficult at all. Just give DCL a call and move the reservation.
2) Probably.
