Question about cell phone charging

Tips for keeping your phone last longer:

1. Close all apps. Typically there's an easily accessible way to see which are running and exit them.
2. Turn down the brightness of your screen - you should be able to set this in your phone's settings, or use the auto function if your phone has it (most do)
3. Run in power-saving mode. Most phones have this feature.
4. Run in airplane mode - downside is it stops all incoming and outgoing transmissions (calls, texts, data).
5. Stop leaving your phone plugged in over night.
6. Charge it only when it drops below 30% and remove the charger when it hits 90% (can vary some).
7. New battery can restore some life to older phones (if yours is accessible)

Finally, I also use portable chargers. However, I've found that following the above tips, I rarely need it.

In addition turn off "location services" if you have an iphone as well as WiFi and Blue Tooth. Just doing that and turning your screen brightness down 25% will extend your battery tremendously without having to go into full airplane mode and shutting off data and calls..

Anker brand chargers are terrific, and they stand by their product (if you get one that's not as terrific as it is supposed to be).

Just as an FYI, the last time I tried charging my phone at a "free" outlet (on Main St in the Mr. Lincoln building) I got scolded by a CM. They want you to use the pay outlets, not the free ones. Go figure. :rolleyes1
The issue is the older wiring and people have had phone batteries ruined, then want Disney to replace their phones. So, CMs are supposed to tell you not to use the outlets they use for cleaning and use the safe charging ones. (Love Anker chargers. Have 3 we carry to cover all of us.)

Another vote an external charger. Don't be wall hugger.

When choosing an external charger... Do you need to charge more than one device (phone, tablet, spouse, kids?). Pay attention to the mAh size. Phone batteries are 1500 to 2500 mAh. Tiny lipstick chargers may only give your phone a half charge and barely dent a iPad.

I like medium sized chargers like 6000mAh, but I also carry a 16,700 mAh charger for serious power and stamina where it can charge phones multiple times.

My charger says it is
3200 mAh Lipstick-Sized Portable Charger
is this good?

If the desire is portability and to charge a phone 1.5 times from zero. It's a good choice.

If you have more than one device or a tablet.... I would look for something bigger.

Does your phone use go UP when travelling? I do when I'm waiting in line or being on a bus, thus a higher mah is what I look for.

Get a good portable battery charger (Anker and Jackery are the best brands, IMO). Carry that around with you, and get multiple charges all day long. No need to stop, no need to get overly concerned about dialing down all your phone's features. I have a great battery in my Galaxy Note 4, and don't cut off or power down anything. Just run it as normal, and if I actually need more charge, the battery charger will take care of giving me a little more juice.

I was searching for something else and this came up. I am guessing since this is such an old thread that most often people will just have battery chargers which I am definitely planning on since the use of Max Pass but...

In the past I have used outlets and haven't been scolded by anyone (yet). In CA I know there is an outlet in Radiator Springs on the right side of the street just before you make the right to RSR. There is also an outlet right behind a bench outside of the restrooms by California Screamin' and King Triton's Carousel. There are a lot of outlets in Geppetto's Village Haus and the CM actually helped me find one close to my table. However I am not sure that the restaurant is still there. It's not on my list in my app but I was there in January of this year.

I really like having a portable pack to hook my cell to to charge up as we're moving through the parks.
Power banks are easy to find on eBay. Or electronic stores.

I usually use a portable charger, but the one day I forgot (I did have my charger in my bag) and did not want to go all the way back to the hotel. I found a table just inside the entrance to Rancho Zocalo with an electrical outlet on the wall beside it. I sat there a bit to charge up my phone.
