My Mom, Sister and I will be cruising the EB Panama Canal August 2016. At that time, I will be CC Gold, My Mom will be silver, and my sister will be a newbie. Will my mom & sister be able to go to the CC Reception with me even though they haven't attained Gold status yet?

Most likely if they are staying in the same cabin with someone who is Gold or Platinum. I have often been invited to bring guests with me to the party.

We went to the CC Reception last week on the Fantasy and they didn't ask for proof. There was a cast member at the entrance to the Tube greeting guests on their way in and I specifically asked if they wanted to see my KTTW card and he said no. We also knew people who were gold level who brought their silver level kids along to it. It's not going to be a problem. Have a great vacation!

I will be gold for the first time on my next cruise. What exactly takes place at the reception?

I've only been to two but they've included:

- Complimentary appetizers and beverages (mimosa, juice)
- Ships Officers stroll around and chat with guests at the tables
- the cruise director and captain make a speech
- a video on current DCL happenings is shown
- Either Mickey or Minnie makes an appearance for photos/autographs
- Mickey Rice Krispy Treats are handed out at the exit as you leave

It doesn't take much time and its a nice relaxing activity. Have fun!

Is it usually on the first day of the cruise? We will be Gold on our upcoming cruise and may have to look into this.

You know I didn't even remember about this until after we got home, but on our last Fantasy cruise we didn't even get an invite!? Not even sure if they had one? We are gold, almost Platinum.

How very odd. Usually its in the letter you get with your CC gift that tells you the benefits you get on the cruise rather than an actual invite like you used to get years back (or has been the last two times I've sailed)

I looked, all we got was a small card and it said nothing about it. We did get our gold CC gift. Odd. No biggie, really, I just found it odd that they didn't do one on our cruise.

Was it a 3 night cruise? The ones I've been to have been on a sea day. Perhaps that is why.

Our recent cruise, none of these (highlighted in red) happened at our reception.

Usually the morning of the second day (e.g. the day after departure).
As long as the second day is a sea day. The reception is usually on a sea day.

Our recent cruise, we got a separate letter on the second day (reception was on the third day - our first sea day).

At our CC reception we had Captain Mickey posing for pics with the ship Captain (and DH) but no Rice Krispy Treats.
