Question About Cash Reservation

We are spending a long weekend at HHI in September. When I booked the reservation, it didn't seem like a prudent expenditure of points, so we are paying cash. We are also traveling with some family, so it just makes sense to pay cash and split the cost.

My question though, is there a benefit to them knowing we are DVC members when we are staying at HHI? And if so, how do we designate ourselves as such? Do I just present our membership card on check-in, or do I need to note that in some other way?

DVC members staying on points would get free internet (not sure if that's true for Non-WDW), but staying on cash you get daily housekeeping.

Are you paying cash through member services? If so, it would still be considered a member reservation and would get the DVC housekeeping schedule.
