Question about carryons you can take on rides/weight restrictions

Hello!

I will be visiting DL and DCA next month for the first time...hooray!

I am a WDW vet, and I know that on all rides I can either take my purse or stow it right with me on the ride, etc, but I do not know about Disneyland. I need to take my bag, and like it to be near me, and I hate to store it as I will spend to much time back and forth at the lockers...so can anyone tell me if I can take my purse on all rides (inluding Space Mountain and California Screamin)?

Also, I am admittedly not a thin person - are these rides large enough for someone like me to fit? I also know in WDW I can fit on the rides, but wanted to know if the weight/size limit for rides in DL and DCA are different before I go so I can avoid any embarassment...

I know these are unusual questions, and I can't find the answer anywhere - so any help you can offer would be great!

On our last trip, DH was around 340, and he's 5'10" (so his weight is not in long, lanky legs, LOL). He fit on everything, though he doesn't like how he FELT in Dumbo.

Oh, but we didn't go on Astro Orbiters...some have said that that can be tricky to get into and out of, but once in people fit fine.

And we didn't do DCA at all (talk to us after Monday, though!).

But people here have said repeatedly that DL is just as size-friendly as WDW.

I've taken my backpack on everything I went on, space Mountain and Indy included, and it was just fine. Oh, but I think I left my backpack with my family for Splash, but that was b/c none of them were going on it and I didn't want it to get wet.

;) One carryon plus one personal item. All liquids or gels must fit in a 1 qt clear zip lock bag and you must show this to the CM before entering the ride. No outside drinks allowed................;)

Just like WDW rides, most rides have pouches where you can stow a purse. If they don't have them on the actual ride vehicle, then they usually have a place to put it that's convenient. Also, with a larger bag, you can slip one of your legs into a strap to secure it such as on ToT.

WOW - thanks for all of the super quick and helpful responses!

You have put my worries at ease and now I am ready for fantabulous days at the parks...now let's just hope I picked days that are low crowds...:dance3:

And bumbershoot - hope you have fun at DCA tomorrow! Let me know how it is...as I have seen some mixed reviews here...
